      You bought a new mattress and it feels a little hard. You may wonder if you made a mistake and bought a mattress that didn't fit. Don't worry! This is all very normal.    When tearing down a new mattress first, check the mattress warranty from the mattress manufacturer; it will provide the best instructions for you to follow. Your body needs to get used to your new mattress. Your mattress lasts an average of 7 to 8 years, so you're probably still getting used to your old mattress. Expect it to take about 1 week for you to get used to your new mattress.

    Mattress manufacturers believe that different mattress types have different break-in techniques:

    Spring mattresses are the traditional mattress type and are easy to break in. The best thing to do is to rotate a new mattress during break-in so that the pressure is applied evenly. Ensuring adequate airflow will also eliminate any odors that may ensue.

    Memory foam mattresses usually take the longest to break in because it's made up of multiple layers of material. A common recommendation is to raise the temperature in your room to about 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Doing so will soften its core, allowing the new mattress to conform quickly to your body.

     Hybrid mattresses depend on the mattress manufacturer and the materials they primarily use. Most hybrid mattresses are a combination of box springs and layers of memory foam. Please consult your warranty or store advisor.
